We invite you to attend the 14th European Film Festival at MovieTowne. This is MovieTowne's 8th year hosting this event and each year it gets bigger and better. This year movie-buffs can enjoy 30 films from across 11 European nations. We are pleased to announce that for the first time we have a film from Portugal in our line-up. The European Film Festival can be enjoyed by the whole family with a variety of foreign films of various genres, including some for the young kids this year. Some of the movies are presented in foreign languages with English sub-titles. We are very excited about the films in the festival this year, as a few of them have received awards in prestigious festivals around the globe.
MOVIE INFO & SCHEDULES
Movie details and the European Film Festival schedule is available on this website or you can pick up a brochure at MovieTowne's Guest Services Desk the next time you visit MovieTowne. The daily schedule will also be reflected in our MovieTowne Movie Guide in the daily newspapers.
EUROPEAN NATIONS PROMOTIONAL DISPLAY
The European Nations will have their countries on display via an educational display in MovieTowne's lobby for the duration of the festival. Please pass by and get more information on the movies in this year's festival, as well as, take a look at the other literature available on the participating countries.
The European Film Festival is also a great idea for a school outing, especially for the language students. These students will get to have fun and experience a foreign film in a unique way and to learn about different cultures. The films start as early as 11am to accommodate schools to attend. Schools can research the movies on our website or in the brochures available and can call MovieTowne at 627-2002 to confirm their bookings for these school visits in advance.
This year there are quite a few family-oriented films that have received an All Ages rating. Again this is a great opportunity to expose kids from an early age to other cultures and styles, especially for those younger ones who have already been introduced to languages in their syllabus. Some of these films are animated and you will find it astonishing that kids are sharp enough to follow the story even if they can’t understand the language being spoken. These films also have English sub-titles.
